Midcontinent Communications is a telecommunications provider that services the areas of the Dakotas and western Minnesota.  As the telecomm industry was becoming more and more competitive, Midcontinent  was seeking a way to extend its brand and develop more customer loyalty.

Shea, Inc. partnered with Midcontinent to develop a retail strategy unlike any of its competitors.  The plan included creating retail stores and service centers in each of their markets that would serve as a destination for both bill pay and basic services, as well as an introduction to new products and services.

The prototype location in Rapid City was extremely successful in terms of traffic, developing customer loyalty and extending their services, as well as in attracting new customers.  Its success sparked development of others in markets such as Sioux Falls, (including a mall kiosk program), Aberdeen, Mitchell, Grand Forks and Watertown, with many more planned over the coming years.
